Many of you will be very aware of this local and very successful folk festival that is now in its 10th year.

It was thus a surprise and a disappointment when it came to our attention that it was not to be taking place in 2019.

In order to clarify the situation, we have spoken to the organisers of the Festival and they have confirmed that the Festival

is running for 2019 with headline acts, Ninebarrow already confirmed and booked.

It therefore appears that some has got hold of the wrong end of the stick somewhere along the line so if you are told the Festival is not running

by anyone then please disregard and counter their argument.

Burton Folk Club is a continuation of the Brewtown Folk Club that was successfully run by Carol and John Worker for many years.

Carol and John have decided to retire after bringing the club to its present status and developing it’s reputation as being one of the finest Folk Clubs in the area.

Geoff Noble has stepped up and agreed to take on the mantle of running the club, together with a small group of helpers and we hope to continue with the legacy left to us from Carol and John .

We hope you will all join us from September 2017 at our new venue the “Beacon” where we look forward to a bright future.

We are proud to be affiliated to the English Folk Dance and Song Society
